Types of

Commercial Grain Dryers

There are several grain drying options to choose from, depending on your farm’s needs. Custom Agri Systems, Inc. supplies only the best of each type to ensure long-term reliability for your operation.

Tower Dryers

Tower dryers (also called column dryers) are the most common continuous-flow grain dryer. As grain moves through the dryer column, heated air passes through the grain to remove excess grain moisture. Large volumes of grain can be processed without stopping the drying process.

Mixed Flow Dryers

Mixed flow grain dryers are more energy efficient than other dryers, and are ideal for maintaining grain quality. Grain and air alternate directions as the grain moves through the dryer, resulting in more even drying with less heat stress on the grain. Mixed flow grain dryers are suitable for large-scale operations.

Batch Grain Dryers

Batch grain dryers (including bin dryers) are typically used on smaller operations or farms that do not require extremely high throughput. Grain is loaded, dried in place, then unloaded. Since batch grain dryers have a lower upfront cust, they are best for for smaller farms getting started with on-farm drying.
